I was looking for a truly authentic Arctic experience, and this reindeer sledge tour in Tromso did not disappoint. Everything was well-organised, starting from Tromsø Havn Prostneset where the bus departed. The ride to Camp Tamok was smooth and relaxing, and once there, our English-speaking guide shared fascinating insights into the Sami way of life, which has shaped the Arctic for centuries. Feeding the reindeer and enjoying a short sled ride was incredible, and the warm meal by the fire in the lavvu was the perfect ending. Bring some extra layers for added comfort

The short sled ride was so much fun, and our little one especially loved feeding the reindeer. The tour’s easy pace meant everyone could join in, and gathering in the Sami tent for a warm meal and drinks afterwards was such a memorable touch. This reindeer sledge tour in Tromso was truly the highlight of our trip! From the moment we boarded the bus in Tromsø city centre for the 90-minute journey to Camp Tamok, we knew we were in for something special. The experience of being out in the Arctic wilderness, learning about the indigenous Sami culture through captivating storytelling, and getting to feed and ride with the reindeer was absolutely magical. The provided thermal suits, boots, mittens, and hats kept us perfectly warm, and the hot meal in the traditional lavvu afterwards was so cosy.
